Many travelers arriving in Sicily are taken by an irresistible charm. Among endless enchanting things it seems they can find the key to everything. Sicily brings to mind Goethe Asia and Africa, so much so that "it is no small thing to stay in this extraordinary place where many axes of the history of the world meet".
The "way of the sun". So the Phoenicians described the immense Mediterranean that led them to Sicily. Mediterranean sun. Looking around it is hard to believe that the vine like the olive tree, the fig tree, has not been here forever. Wherever there is life and good wine, there is still civilization and poetry.
